Wedding Reflection

Our wedding day was truly one of the best days of our lives, after many days of preparation, we can honestly say that we will never forget the day we made a promise to each other.   Having played a huge role in our lives, we have a special place in our hearts for our family and friends.  We chose to specifically honor our mothers with a rose ceremony, an embrace with Greg’s mother and the iconic placement of a rose on a chair for Gina’s deceased mother.  We also wanted to remember our family members that were no longer with us with a remembrance table and a Hawaiian prayer for Greg’s aunt that passed earlier in the year.  The love and excitement from our family on that day was indescribable.

Surrounding the warmth of our family was the natural beauty of The Farm at South Mountain.  The rustic chairs, vintage décor and a range of elegant flowers was another intangible that created an extraordinary atmosphere that we owe to our wedding planner and our amazing vendors that worked with us for every detail.

Extra-special detail was in the bridesmaid dresses that were ordered from Etsy and custom made from recycled fabrics.  The palette of pinks, peach, burgundy, ivory, mauve, and even some purples complemented the grey groomsmen’s suits with a burgundy tie, and a calla lily on their lapel that really set off the ensemble.  Flowers are only natural at a wedding, but from the bouquets to the centerpieces, our flowers were detailed and intricately mixed which made them divine.

Having been to several weddings, we know that food matters, so catering was a big deal for us.  Although we were locked into a single catering company at The Farm, we could have not asked for a better tasting buffet.  Even though we were limited in choice for the vendor, our menu selections allowed for any style of food one could wish for.  We’d describe our food selections as country-Italian.

We wanted to add our own special touch, so starting with our “save the date”, we did everything we could by hand.  We definitely didn’t estimate the effort that went into our invitations, programs, and party favors, but we are so glad that we took the time to put our hearts into creating these together.  After many different proofs, cutting, folding and stamping, our favorite creation was our party favors; small coffee bags wrapped with brown paper and twine with a stamp that said “the perfect blend”.
